I am soo so happy .....I am done with taxes. I have been doing a little happy dance in my head ....ok not just in my head but I have no audience. Thank goodness.

Nothing like some new fabrics in to top off the day and then the cherry on top of that is I received the "your in" notice from the Spearfish Festival in the Park. Its our first so its exciting, I am sure next year I will be singing a different tune. Its always way too hot but there is the Spearfish Creek that runs through the park with its icey cold crystal clear water. We usually take the kids over and spend the day tubing down the river and picnicing and watching the amazingly diverse group of people. The booths are just packed full of fun items and this year we are going to share our ideas. I have a list started which I am sure will change but you have to start somewhere....

Love this new print in from Red Rooster....I see a comfy summer dress that I can just slip over my head...maybe a little shaping at the waist. Some binding around the arms with the stripe or the dot.....maybe a tiny little ruffle around the hem.
I better get back to work.....My mantra today is
Create a day worth remembering.

Its snowing again

Well its blowing snow again so I have 4 kids (one extra from a spending the night) to keep entertained and out of each others hair. I would send them all out to shovel and play in their huge snow fort but the wind is really whipping ...I think I will wait till later and then tackle the ponds of melted snow that always appear when they come in over and over and over again. It is so much fun to watch them playing in the snow. Ally usually plops herself down in a big pile and starts eating snow. Cy is our enthusiastic roller which can be kind of odd if you don't know what hes up to....he just kind of falls and rolls, the fire drill sort of back and forth. Ayden is my Worker Bee and usually finds a shovel to clear a path or he likes his snowboard which he is mastering quite quickly. I saw him teaching Ally the other day and they made quite a team. I am sure Grandpa is itching to get out the snowmobiles again......its been a great year for the hills. I think there should be at least a foot of new snow this morning so its going to be a beautiful Sunday for a tour. Wish I dared take some time off but too much work. and then there is my taxes I need to find a way to do. My main computer has blue screened .....I am really in denial at this point so I haven't even really started to figure out how to proceed. Its backed up somewhere so I am not lost but I want my computer back.

Its time to brave the elements to get down to the shop, I have a couple of orders to get out to the post office and some sewing to do. Ally just informed me the car is buried. I have already taken the dog out once this morning so I really don't want to walk it unless I want to start shovelling again. Oh my arms are going to be buff.

I had so much fun sewing this weekend. I finally took some time and turned one of these pillowcases into a dress with matching bloomers. It really got the creative juices started up again. Its been a while so things come slowly but oh the ideas started popping into my head like popcorn which feels pretty good after so long. 3 dresses done and a couple more cut. I need to give these machines a good workout. Speaking of workouts ...Cocoa took me on quite a trek this morning in about a foot and a half of snow...I was puffing by the time I caught up with her. She was just screaming around the snowpiles digging her nose in the snow every once in a while...I think she was imagining a bunny or two to chase. Usually I make enought noise to ensure that they have all had time to run for their little rabbit holes but every once in awhile she gets to chase one.

Playing in the snow in March

Can you believe 2 days ago we were all walking around in shorts and it was 70 degrees. What a show our weather puts on here in the Center of the Nation. We had lightning and snow yesterday morning with the warnings out... thank goodness I didnt venture out too far. By noon the wind had come up and the snow was howling. The kids had talked Grandma and Grandpa into letting them come out for a couple of hours...well the hours have turned into a couple of days as the roads are completely closed. Not that we could actually get the car or pickup dug out enough to go anywhere anyway. They are having the time of their lives I hear, tunneling and tooling around on the snowmobiles. Oh what great memories these kids get to have with the wonderful grandparents they have on all sides. Its like they have their own personal life coach teams....providing all sorts of fabulous experiences...wow we are blessed. Scott and I,hmmmm well time is so slow without the kids around. We dont do much sitting around so when we do get the chance to do nothing it just doesnt work. So he paced while I did books until he just had to go out do something. He shovelled and scooped snow so long I had to go out and make sure he hadnt had a heart attack or got lost in the snow. So I helped a bit and took some pictures to share.

Testing the whole linking thing My new online fabric store http://thebakeryfabrics.com/ Please be patient while I work out all the bugs...there are so many features I want to add.
This is kind of fun now that I am finding my way around on this thing. But the possibilities are mind boggling.
What to do
